Spectra Jet Inc. Opens FBO S-Jet

On April 24, 2008, Spectra Jet opened a new FBO at the Springfield Airport in Ohio (KSGH).

Named FBO S-Jet, it offers fuel to all aircraft as well as a pilots' lounge, weather updates, ice, coffee and anything else that an aviation consumer might need.

"We negotiated with the City of Springfield for months to make sure we could do this," said Mike Catherwood, Owner and President. He said the first step was to reduce the price of Jet and Avgas fuel to be more competitive with the surrounding airports. "Our next move is to make sure that everyone knows this," he said.

Catherwood said the company was also stressing the dedication to customer service, which S-Jet has carried over from the maintenance operation.

The addition of a 15,000-square-foot hangar allows for overnight or long-term storage of all aircraft and office space is also available.

The future expansion plans of Spectra Jet tie in with the opening of FBO S-Jet and the intent is to move the entire FBO operation into the new office complex between the maintenance hangars.
