Howard Povey Joins Marshall Business Aviation as Sales Director

Marshall Aerospace has appointed Howard Povey, head of aircraft sales and brokerage at Marshall Business Aviation. Based at its Cambridge Airport, UK headquarters, the new business will focus initially on acquiring and selling pre-owned business jets and turboprops. Povey will head the new operation and he joins the company's management team as sales director on 5th November and will be based at Cambridge Airport and will report to managing director of Marshall Business Aviation (MBA) and Marshall Executive Aviation (MEA), Steve Jones.

Marshall Business Aviation has opened a technical support office at London Luton Airport within the Harrods Aviation facilities. The move is in response to an increasing number of Cessna Citation aircraft owner/operators flying in or now based at London Luton where Harrods Aviation also runs an established FBO.

Hawthorne Global Aviation Services FBO Expands in New Orleans (NEW), Plans for the Future

Hawthorne Global Aviation Services has acquired its second FBO and first in the Gulf Coast area. The South Carolina-based company, which has an 80-year heritage in aviation, purchased a controlling interest in the AeroPremier facility at New Orleans Lakefront Airport and has rebranded it as a Hawthorne property. The location, which completed extensive renovations earlier this year, has more than 50,000 sq. ft. of hangar space and can accommodate aircraft up to the size of a Global Express. Earlier this year, Hawthorne acquired the ExcelAire FBO at MacArthur Airport on Long Island, N.Y.

From a weather perspective, the first quarter of 2012 in Kansas City, wasn’t so bad. What should have been snow and ice, turned out to be an early Spring. Second quarter April showers brought some May flowers, but after that it got hot, really hot – Arizona hot. Or, in the words of Airman Adrian Cronauer in the film Good Morning Vietnam, “It’s hot!” With the heat came … nothing. Mother Nature dried her tear ducts. A severe drought not only ensued, but is still in progress. Not to say there haven’t been occasional claps of thunder, but nothing apart from hit and miss precipitation. The only thing in abundance is politics. As everyone knows by tuning into their favorite media outlet, it is the Olympics of American politics.
