Garmin Unveils Complete Avionics Modernization Program for Cessna Citation CJ2

Garmin (NYSE: GRMN) has announced an upcoming Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Supplemental Type Certification (STC) for the Cessna Citation CJ2, creating an all-Garmin integrated solution for the popular light jet. As a complete upgrade for the original flight deck, Garmin's industry-leading avionics solutions will fully replace the legacy systems, modernizing the airplane and reducing pilot workload by bringing new capabilities and safety-enhancing technologies. The all-Garmin retrofit will include TXi flight displays, GTN Xi navigators, GFC 600 digital autopilot and several more optional upgrades.

Garmin (NYSE: GRMN) has announced that GWX 8000 StormOptix Weather Radar with Auto Mode will soon be approved for display and control via GTN Xi navigators and TXi flight displays, expanding its interface potential beyond previously approved Garmin integrated flight decks. The GWX 8000 eliminates the requirement for pilots to manually adjust the radar, resulting in a comprehensive weather depiction with simplified operation. Using 3D volumetric scanning capability, GWX 8000 reduces pilot workload and depicts the weather with four times the colors of traditional weather radars — while also providing hail and lightning prediction, turbulence detection and advanced ground clutter suppression.

GFC600H on Bell 505 Earns EASA Certification

Ahead of HAI Heli-Expo 2024, Bell shared that Garmin’s GFC™ 600H flight control system on the Bell 505 has been approved by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). In addition to EASA approval, GFC 600H for Bell 505 has previously received FAA and Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) approval. Bell has delivered more than 505 Bell 505s globally and recently announced a signed purchase agreement for a 505 to a Polish customer. The GFC 600H will also be available for viewing in Bell 505, showcased in Bell’s booth at HAI Heli-Expo 2024.
