Garmin Celebrates Women of Aviation Week With Free Flights for Local Girls

Garmin’s celebrations for Women of Aviation Week 2023 are in full swing and in-person for the first time since COVID-19. Our goal is to shine a light on the brilliant women who share their talent and passion with Garmin aviation while also inspiring the next generation of female aviators.

Below are the events happening at Garmin throughout the week:

  • Monday: Fighter Pilot and speaker Tammy Barlette comes to Garmin to speak to associates about the importance of a mission-focused mindset and shares her experiences as a female fighter pilot.

  • Tuesday & Thursday: Local high school girls are invited to Garmin’s hangar for free flights and tours of the hangar. A record number of 62 girls signed up to come fly with Garmin this year.

  • Wednesday: Garmin aviation engineers travel to local elementary schools for classroom presentations and activities.
