FuelerLinx Develops New Multi-leg Tankering Calculator

FuelerLinx announced its newest feature, the Multi-leg Tankering Calculator, was set to make a huge impact on the way flight departments utilize their fuel price analysis software.

Founded in 2008, FuelerLinx helps aircraft operators buy fuel more efficiently by comparing all of their contract fuel prices across locations and suppliers to find the lowest prices available. The Multi-leg Tankering Calculator goes a step further, allowing the user to build a trip of up to six legs while maximizing savings on fuel, all with a few clicks of a mouse.

The new feature takes multiple factors into consideration when plotting the optimal fuel profile for an aircraft, such as ramp fees, volume breaks, maintenance cost per minute, basic operating weight, great circle distance and more. It uniquely and accurately displays a flight department’s real-time contract pricing directly from fuel vendors, giving the user a platform to compare prices and dispatch fueling requests.

Dispatchers and pilots will undoubtedly enjoy the efficiency of the Tankering Calculator, and the time-saving aspect alone can be noticed immediately. Using the calculator cuts tankering from an hour-long task into a few seconds. All one has to do is select their type of aircraft and trip legs, and the calculator will take all of the information available into account and display an exact amount of fuel to upload at each location while simultaneously displaying the amount of reserve fuel at each destination.

The Tankering Calculator will find the optimal volume price break as well as display the estimated total and per leg fuel cost breakdown of your trip.

Users will have the ability to customize different facets of the software by adjusting aircraft performance settings, payload and preferred reserve fuel minimums.

“The great thing about the Tankering Calculator is that within seconds, it finds the ideal fueling route for the user. The software completes anywhere from ten to seventy million calculations to reach this outcome, something that a user is just not capable of doing on their own,” said FuelerLinx programmer Mike Mieglitz.

Flight Departments can access the Tankering Calculator through most any computer platform, as well as iPads, iPhones or the Android operating system. Giving pilots the ability to access the feature from the cockpit may be the biggest advantage while looking at fueling options on the go.

FuelerLinx is anticipating an enthusiastic response from subscribers.

“The tankering feature builds upon our goal of saving flight departments money,” said FuelerLinx president Kevin Moller. “It is another FuelerLinx tool that justifies the cost of subscription. The savings will cover the cost of the software in the first few fuelings. Users are going to love it.”
