DC Aviation Overhauls VVIP Airbus A320

With an investment of over 5,000 person-hours, DC Aviation’s maintenance center at Stuttgart Airport performed a comprehensive overhaul of a VVIP Airbus of the A320 family.

The on-board entertainment system was modernized, including the installation of fully HD-capable cabling. The airplane was fitted with HD monitors, a new surround-sound system, and a WLAN with a media server.

The cabin was upgraded with durable non-textile (NTF) flooring. In addition to the cabin work, a 10-year maintenance check and a landing gear overhaul were performed. The ground time was also used to perform sensible structural repair work.

DC Aviation has performed cabin overhauls e.g. on the Legacy 650 and the Challenger 850 and has comprehensive experience with changing landing gear. It has been offering line and base maintenance services for various types of aircraft since 1999. The 5,000 m2 hangar at Stuttgart Airport (EDDS) as well as the two large climatized hangars at Al Maktoum International Airport (OMDW) in Dubai with footprints of 5,700 and 7,500 m2 respectively are all equipped with cutting edge tools, special tooling for certain types of aircraft, and testing equipment.  DC Aviation has a large parts inventory, its own certified battery and tire shop, and a maintenance logistics center.
