National Jets Helps to Provide Relief for Hurricane Victims

The South Florida Area quickly went from recovery operations after Hurricane Irma to relief support of its island neighbors like St. Martin, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico when Hurricane Maria hit very shortly after. The amount of support to the Caribbean that both private individuals, corporate partners and the US Government through FEMA provided has been overwhelming.

Over the past two months, National Jets a full service FBO, 135 Charter Operator and 145 Repair Station has worked hand in hand with many corporate flight departments, airlines and air freight operators in order to make Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (KFLL) a key location for evacuations before the storms and relief efforts afterwards.

With the onset of Irma, charter companies and airlines across the nation were literally selling out their entire fleets in order to supplement corporate flight departments running at maximum capacity in order to evacuate people living in the South Florida area. For relief operations, many corporate flight departments and charter companies pitched in to donate any availability they could spare to ferry supplies. Cargo Airlines like Ameristar, IFL Group and Kalitta were following with completely booked schedules all the way through September and October. Donated goods ranging from pallets of water, portable gas generators, non-perishable food and hygiene products would arrive by the hour, requiring 24/7 operations to support the intake of all the items.
