Tac Air CHA to Donate Portion of Fuel Proceeds to T. C. Thompson Children’s Hospital at Erlanger

TAC Air, a division of Truman Arnold Companies, will donate a portion of proceeds from August fuel sales at the chain’s Chattanooga facility  to T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital at Erlanger. The company is currently the only fixed base operator (FBO) providing general aviation services at Chattanooga’s Lovell Field (CHA). The company operates 12 facilities and most recently was selected as the nation’s “#1 Large FBO Chain” by the readers of Professional Pilot magazine.

For every gallon of general aviation fuel pumped during the month of August, TAC Air will donate $0.02 to Children’s Hospital in Chattanooga. The idea originated from TAC Air associates in Chattanooga who have long been supportive of work done at the hospital. This is a significant donation by TAC Air CHA, with the total contribution expected to total several thousand dollars.

The donation will be given to the hospital’s ‘Safe and Sound’, an injury prevention service at Erlanger and lead agency of SAFE KIDS Greater Chattanooga Area, which provides classes and events on topics such as car seat safety, bicycle and toy safety, and more.

“At TAC Air, we know the importance of keeping our customers and their equipment safe, sound and ready to travel,” said Pam McAllister, general manager of the Chattanooga FBO. “That commitment led to the idea of donating part of our profits to keeping some of the smallest members of our community safe as well.” Earlier this year, TAC Air CHA was awarded the National Safety Council’s 2011 Occupational Excellence Achievement Award.

McAllister noted that two recent incidents involving children on bikes struck by cars led them to this decision.

Safe and Sound is an alliance with SAFE KIDS Worldwide, a non-profit organization dedicated solely to the prevention of unintentional childhood injury. SAFE KIDS aims to stimulate changes in attitudes, behavior and the environment by conducting public outreach and awareness campaigns.

“As the new school year begins, TAC Air knows that even more effort needs to be put into keeping our children safe.  We know that the funds given to this program will be dollars well invested,” said Christian Sasfai, TAC Air Vice President & COO.
