Avfuel’s Nationwide Pilot Promotion, “The Great Fly-In,” Concludes on a High Note

Avfuel’s popular aviation e-club for pilots, AVCLUB (avclubrewards.com), has completed its latest nationwide pilot promotion as of October 1, 2008. Winners, who had to be AVCLUB members in order to qualify and play “The Great Fly-In,” have now been determined and will soon receive their awards of gifts or AVTRIP points.

The grand-prize winner was determined by the player who collected game cards by visiting Avfuel-branded dealers and entered the largest number of unique FBO passport codes (one per Avfuel-branded FBO visited) into his online AVCLUB account. On October 1, 2008, Avfuel determined that the grand-prize winner is Mr. Greg France, who received a global positioning system (GPS) and 5,000 AVTRIP points. Those players who gathered more than 24 stamps received 5,000 AVTRIP points and a chance at winning one of several Apple iPhones. The five winners of iPhones are Doug Delong, Robert Caster, Robert Candido, Dale Ober and Ken Malcomson. Those with more than 12 stamps but fewer than 24 received 2,500 AVTRIP points and a $15 credit for Avfuel merchandise, redeemable at shopAVFUEL.com.

“We’re pleased that this game was so popular among AVTRIP pilots,” said Avfuel Director of Marketing Marci Ammerman. “This game encouraged pilots to choose Avfuel-branded dealers over our competitors.”

In 2007, Avfuel established AVCLUB to expand the reward offerings of the popular refueling incentive program, AVTRIP. In March 2008, AVCLUB kicked off its first of many promotional contests, ‘The Great Fly-In.' Ammerman said the game drew unexpectedly large numbers of AVTRIP member participants from all over the world.

During the six-month promotion, tens of thousands of stamps were collected by thousands of pilots and entered into the game’s official website. More than 500 unique FBOs were the benefactors of frequent pilot visits. The next AVCLUB nationwide game will begin before the year-end. Ammerman said she projected double the participation of “The Great Fly-In” due to a large volume of inquiries and increasing membership numbers.
