W Aviation Launches “Wings of Hope for Venezuela”

W Aviation, based at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE), has launched “Wings of Hope for Venezuela,” a major humanitarian airlift initiative to provide urgently needed relief supplies to families affected by the recent devastating disaster in Venezuela.

Serving as the central collection and logistics center for the mission, W Aviation has partnered with AEG Fuels, one of the largest aviation fuel providers in the United States, whose aircraft owners have generously donated aircraft and flight crews for the humanitarian mission. The initiative is also supported by Giving Smiles TTLO, a South Florida nonprofit dedicated to helping children around the world, and Sunrisas, an organization working directly with communities in the affected areas of Venezuela.

The community response has been extraordinary. During the first day of the donation drive, more than 150 volunteers came together to receive, organize, sort, and prepare thousands of pounds of humanitarian supplies for immediate air transport.

The humanitarian operation is already underway. The first relief aircraft successfully arrived in Caracas yesterday, delivering the initial shipment of emergency supplies. Three additional humanitarian flights are scheduled for tomorrow, with more flights expected as donations continue to arrive.

“Watching our aviation community, volunteers, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and local leaders unite for one purpose has been truly inspiring,” said Ignacio Martinez, President of W Aviation. “Every box packed, every hour volunteered, every aircraft donated, and every contribution represents hope for families facing unimaginable hardship.”

While aircraft owners have generously donated the use of their aircraft and crews, significant operational expenses remain, including aviation fuel, landing fees, airport handling, and logistics costs. To help sustain these life-saving flights, the public is encouraged to contribute through the mission’s official GoFundMe campaign.

Donate today and help keep these humanitarian flights in the air:

Every contribution, regardless of size, will directly support the transportation of humanitarian aid to those who need it most.

W Aviation also wishes to recognize and thank the many public officials and community leaders who have expressed their support for this humanitarian initiative, including Congressman Jared Moskowitz and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz,  the Broward County mayor and Commissioners, the Fort Lauderdale City mayor and  Commission, District Commissioner John Herbst, members of the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport Advisory Board, Airport Director Rufus James, Assistant Airport Director Carlton Harrison, and the many volunteers, businesses, organizations, and donors who have united behind this mission of hope.

The coalition continues to collect non-perishable food, bottled water, baby supplies, hygiene products, blankets, medical supplies, clothing, and other essential relief items.

Together, we are delivering more than humanitarian aid. We are delivering hope.
