Revv Aviation Expands Student Flight Opportunities

Sioux City, Iowa’s, universities can now offer an FAA-approved Part 141 pilot training curriculum with Revv Aviation, the only flight school that is FAA certified in the tri-state area.

“Our pilot training is a signature phase of service offerings we plan to offer in Sioux City,’ said Revv CEO Guy Lieser. “Our goal is to expand flight training offerings to accommodate the ever-impending demand for pilots, mechanics and technicians.”

Revv has more than 15 years of experience working with Part 141 curriculums. Revv is a provider of pilot training with the University of Omaha-Nebraska’s Part 141 Aviation Institute. Students in that program can earn a bachelor’s degree in aviation as well as piloting certifications up to Air Transport Pilot, which is required to become a commercial airline pilot. Revv is pilot-training 120 students currently enrolled in UNO’s Aviation Institute.

“We encourage any college or university that wants to establish an aviation curriculum to contact us about a remote Part 141 program,” said Lisa LaMantia, chief operating officer at Revv. “We have the knowledge and experience to collaborate with your institution to provide another curriculum that is in very high demand.”

“The need is great for pilots, mechanics, air traffic controllers and other aviation positions,” said Jerome Howard, Revv’s chief flight instructor citing a Boeing report indicating a shortage of 650,000 pilot jobs and the same amount of aviation mechanics over the next 20 years. “This is a fantastic opportunity for Morningside, Briar Cliff and their students,” said Howard.

Revv operates flight schools in nine Midwest locations in five states and has the only pilot training school at the Siouxland Gateway Airport. More than 3,000 students have graduated from Revv flight schools.  Revv has 38 certified flight instructors based in Council Bluffs/Omaha/Sioux City and 27 Cessna Piper pilot training aircraft.

In November 2022, Morningside University announced the launch of its School of Aviation, which includes a professional flight program designed for those who wish to earn their bachelor’s degree while also acquiring pilot ratings, and the aviation management degree, which is designed for those interested in non-flying positions.
