“Bring Your Plane to Work Day” Fly-In & Career Day
/Signature Flight Support and Alden Aviation Management are hosting a “Bring Your Plane to Work Day” Fly-In & Career Day. The Fly-In is a social event that will also allow current aviation professionals to promote aviation careers to the next generation.

“Bring Your Plane to Work Day” is an opportunity for FedEx pilots to bring their personal aircraft to Memphis International Airport (KMEM) to inspire students to consider a career in aviation’s many professions. There will also be light aircraft sales displays for pilots looking for a new aircraft.
The Career Day will feature exhibitors from local flight schools, Women in Aviation, Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP), Airline Pilot Association (ALPA), military recruiters, and aviation colleges. These groups will be promoting various career paths to attendees.
FedEx Feeder Operations will be promoting the Purple Runway – A FedEx Pilot Pathways Program.
A Boeing reports states that there will be a shortage of over 200,000 pilots and nearly 200,000 aircraft mechanics over the next 20 years. (https://www.boeing.com/commercial/market/pilot-technician-outlook/) The Career Day will highlight the great work that the T-STEM Academy at East High School. and Luke Weathers Flight Academy are doing to fill the aviation professional shortage. The event is a fundraiser for both schools.
There is no fee for attending or parking for the event. The “Bring Your Plane to Work Day” Fly-In & Career Day is open to the public. Come to Signature Flight Support and explore aviation careers.
Signature Flight Support is donating their facilities and services for this fund-raising event.
- All Vendor Expo fees will benefit the Transportation-STEM Academy at East Memphis H.S.
- The Aviation Auction/Raffle will benefit the non-profit Luke Weathers Flight Academy.
- The Pre-Flight Café will donate proceeds of event’s food sales to the T-STEM Academy.
