Sheltair Expands Network to 15 With Acquisition Of KLAL Flightlevel Aviation

Sheltair Aviation has acquired FlightLevel Aviation Lakeland at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport (KLAL), bringing Sheltair’s total FBO locations to 15 and the company’s property and real estate holdings and interest to 21 airports in North America.

Sheltair Lakeland will operate out of a recently-constructed 3,200 square foot terminal with approximately 54,000 square feet of hangar and office space. The FBO provides complete general and commercial aviation fuel and ground handling services and offers numerous amenities including dedicated lounges, conference facilities, flight planning, weather and after-hours service. All Sheltair FBOs are members of the Avfuel Branded FBO Network, offering Avfuel Contract Fuel, AVTRIP Rewards, and more.

“We are very excited to expand the Sheltair brand into Lakeland,” said Jerry Holland, Sheltair CEO. “We look forward to partnering with the City of Lakeland and with the airport community to improve service and support the Airport’s mission for expanded operations.”

Lakeland Linder Regional Airport is centrally-located off Interstate 4, only 40 minutes by car from Disney at Orlando or Tampa Bay. The airport features an 8,499 foot runway, making it ideally situated to support large aircraft maintenance operators as well as a growing amount of corporate traffic. The airport is host to the annual Sun n’ Fun Fly-In and Expo, attracting approximately 500 exhibitors and over 150,000 visitors each year.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Sheltair to Lakeland Linder Regional Airport,” said airport director Gene Conrad. “Sheltair’s highly-motivated and dedicated team of professionals will help us take LAL to the next level of customer service and airport development. We are an emerging facility and our new partnership with Sheltair will help us to continue to move the needle forward.”
