Spirit of St. Louis Fixed Base Operations Consolidate

TAC Air, a division of Truman Arnold Companies, has acquired the assets of Executive Beechcraft, Inc. (operated as Signature Flight Support) at Spirit of St. Louis (SUS) Airport.

TAC Air’s total available hangar space at SUS now exceeds 150,000 square feet with the addition of two hangars from the acquisition. Concurrently, TAC Air is partnering with West Star Aviation to expand its St. Louis area aircraft maintenance services into a portion of the space previously occupied by Executive Beechcraft, Inc. Terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

“It has been a positive experience for us at SUS since we entered the market. The additional facilities will allow us to expand our award winning service to even more users of the Airport,” said Greg Arnold, President and CEO of Truman Arnold Companies.

TAC Air began operations at the airport in 2009 when it purchased the assets of Jet Direct.

In addition to the acquisition, TAC Air also announced the completion of more than $1 million in improvements to its SUS executive terminal.

According to TAC Air VP & COO Christian Sasfai, “Our renovated SUS executive terminal amenities are world-class and the most luxurious on the field.”

In keeping with TAC Air’s system wide standards, improvements in the terminal include a covered passenger drop-off, the addition of a pilot sleep room, expanded pilot lounge, additional passenger lounges, high definition televisions throughout the terminal, updated conference rooms and flight planning.

Sasfai also commented on how the acquisition reflected a growing trend in general aviation FBO services. “Consolidation has become a necessary component of today’s aviation services industry in order to provide high quality, low cost products and services to aircraft owners and operators.”

Meanwhile, TAC Air is actively pursuing several acquisition opportunities and expects to announce more acquisitions this year.
