The Impact of the Atlantic-Mercury Merger

On the heels of the merger between Atlantic Aviation and Mercury Air Centers Inc., Atlantic is working to rollout Atlantic Awards, its loyalty program for pilots, across the new organization, says Sue Sommers, Atlantic’s vice president of sales and marketing.

This is one of the few changes that the merger is expected to have on Atlantic's service package, Sommers says.

The combined operations, along with the pending Supermarine acquisition, boosts the total number of Atlantic locations from 44 to 68. Though Atlantic already had a presence countrywide, the merger does enhance its presence in the Southeast, Sommers adds.

The merger makes Atlantic the largest FBO chain in the country, according to an Atlantic press statement. New locations in the Atlantic network include Atlanta-Peachtree, Nashville, Los Angeles and Reno.

Combining corporate center functions with Atlantic’s existing operations in Dallas is expected to take up to an additional 18 months.
