Honeywell Introduces New Avionics Display

Honeywell is developing a new display for general aviation use that closely matches Honeywell avionics systems found on larger aircraft. GPS and Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS), a new software-based VHF communication and navigation radio are included.

Flying information can be displayed in multiple configurations. Pilots will use traditional hard keys, line select keys, display based dedicated keys or a cursor control device (CCD).

The system's other features include higher transmit power, charts and maps, integrated EGPWS and a weather radar interface.

"We believe this next-generation WAAS GPS/communication/navigation and multi-vunction display will simplify pilot workload while providing a more comprehensive look at the pilot's aircraft position in the flight environment," said Dan Barks, business director, GA Operators and Dealers, Honeywell Business and General Aviation, in a company statement.

The Bendix/King® KSN 770 product will be competitively priced with similar WAAS receivers.
