Smart Cabin CMS
Flight Display Systems is excited to introduce Smart Cabin CMS. Smart Cabin is a convergence of cabin management, in-flight entertainment, and wireless connectivity. With Smart Cabin passengers can use a carry-on personal electronic device to control HD video equipment, cabin lighting, audio, and much more. Smart Cabin will revolutionize the way passengers connect with an aircraft cabin.

Satellite Radio Streamer

Flight Display Systems introduced an all-new version of its Satellite Radio Streamer. A must have addition to any aircraft, this product (DAPS360 Ver 2) is easier to install and more compact than before. The Satellite Radio Streamer already has PMA. It weighs less than a pound.

The DAPS360 Ver 2 includes a voice assisted set-up with easy to follow step-by-step instructions using headphones. Additionally, it is possible to support multiple units - up to 16 per aircraft. This gives passengers access to more channels from every seat.

“We are excited about the updates to our Satellite Radio Streamer,” says David Gray, President of Flight Display Systems, “it makes for a much more versatile product.”

The DAPS360 Ver 2 interfaces with the majority of cabin management systems and streams satellite radio channels to a variety of personal devices either wired or wirelessly, iPhone or Android.

Channel selection, artist and song name are all controlled via a RS-232 serial port.

15.4" Motorized Ceiling Mount Display

Flight Display Systems introduces a modern solution to aging ceiling mounted displays. Small, outdated overhead monitors can be replaced with brilliant 15.4" widescreen LCDs. The existing left or right-hand base units are removed and sent to Flight Display Systems. There they are retrofitted with brand new, High-Definition displays.

The updated units, now holding slim, lightweight displays, still maintain motorized capabilities. Once reinstalled in the aircraft, the displays are deployed with a remote control. The updated units carry a 1 year warranty.

New High-Definition Glare Shield Camera

Flight Display Systems has introduced a new High-Definition Glare Shield Color Camera. When mounted in the cockpit of an aircraft, this camera will provide passengers with the opportunity to observe taxi, take-off and landing. 

“Flightview cameras add a new dimension to the flying experience for passengers,” said David Gray, President of Flight Display Systems “This new offering provides crystal-clear High-Definition image transmitted through an HD-SDI backbone.”

The camera produces 1080p output at 30 frames per second and 720p at 60 fps via HD-SDI. The effective pixel resolution is 1944(H) x 1092(V). Optics include a 6mm, f=3.6 lens. The minimum illumination is 0.1 Lux. Camera will include a mounting base. Product number is FD600CAM-3.


AvVisor® Replacement Unit

Flight Display Systems has introduced a drop-in replacement for the Teledyne AvVisor® moving map. The AvVisor is no longer supported, so aircraft owners must install a different system. The Flight Display Systems solution is a 9" Widescreen LCD display that drops into the same cutout. The World Wide Moving Map functionality will be provided by the next generation JetJukebox.

JetJukebox is a core platform that enables a variety of functionality via Wi-Fi. It acts as the smart hub for the Smart Cabin CMS. It allows passengers to control lights, video, music and more with just about any personal electronic device.

The JetJukebox, along with a Wi-Fi router, creates a local area network within an aircraft cabin. The device will stream movies, music, or images via Wi-Fi to as many as eight passengers. Additionally, the JetJukebox streams the Flight Display Systems World Wide Moving Map. Content is easily accessed through a user-friendly interface. The interface is accessible through a browser. No app required.

JetJukebox is not only designed for entertainment, business users can benefit as well. Corporate content can be loaded and presented to passengers. JetJukebox basically acts as a local file server. Any file that a carry-on device can read can be served with JetJukebox. Business passengers can collaborate with documents such as PDF, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Auxiliary Input Panel with HD-SDI Output

Flight Display Systems has released an HD-SDI version of its Auxiliary Input Panel. When installed near a seat in a private jet, the panel provides audio and video inputs the for the Smart Cabin CMS. Specifically it provides composite video, VGA, HDMI, and left/right audio input. The unit’s HD-SDI output is designed to integrate with HD-SDI displays and components. It can also work with third party components that use standard single ended line level audio and SDI/HD-SDI video interfaces. Product number is FDAIP-CVH Ver. HDSDI.
