/Ask AC-U-KWIK: Airport Elevation Changes
/I noticed that AC-U-KWIK recently raised the field elevation at my airport by eleven feet. Why is that?
Often, the FAA will change an airport’s official elevation and AC-U-KWIK reports these changes every 56 days. The airport could have been surveyed many years ago with inaccurate equipment, and may have recently undergone a new geographical survey. New runways or other construction projects can affect official elevation as well.
