AOPA Foundation President to Address Atlanta Aero Club

Karen Gebhart, president of the AOPA Foundation, is the featured guest speaker at the March 2 Atlanta Aero Club meeting.

Gebhart’s presentation will address the challenges and opportunities facing general aviation and how individual engagement can help promote and protect freedom to fly.

The meeting is scheduled for noon on March 2 in the Grand Ballroom of the Capital City Club, 7 Harris St., in downtown Atlanta. The cost is $30 for members and $40 for non-members. The admission price includes lunch.

AOPA Foundation president Karen Gebhart will speak at the March 2 Atlanta Aero Club meeting.As president of the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association (AOPA) Foundation, Gebhart leads the organization’s charitable giving arm with responsibility for fundraising in support of four major initiatives to help preserve the future of GA. Gebhart focuses on improving the perception of GA, growing the pilot population, the preservation of airports and safety education through ASF.

An active pilot, Gebhart joined AOPA in 1994 and has held various positions of increasing responsibility, including membership, products and services and AOPA’s annual convention. Most recently, she was executive vice president of communications. In that role, she led a division with responsibility for bringing AOPA’s message to members, the media, and the public through AOPA's magazines, AOPA Online, electronic newsletters, advertising sales, media relations efforts and major campaigns, including General Aviation Serves America and Let’s Go Flying.
