United States Air Force Selects Garmin D2 Charlie Aviator Watch

U.S. Air Force pilots of the ultra-high altitude U-2 reconnaissance aircraft will be equipped with the Garmin D2 Charlie watch for backup navigation, Garmin says.

Garmin expects the Air Force to acquire more than 100 of the watches.

According to Garmin, the watch provides:

  • Moving maps
  • Airport data, including communication frequencies, runway dimensions, runway surface and weather
  • GPS tracking
  • Distance to the next waypoint
  • Estimated time en route
  • UTC
  • Barometric-based O2 alerts
  • Garmin Connect pairing
