AC-U-KWIK Launches FBO Connection Blog

Taps Industry Veterans John Enticknap and Ron Jackson

January 27, 2011 (Overland Park, KS) -- AC-U-KWIK has tapped FBO operations and marketing veterans John Enticknap and Ron Jackson to write a weekly blog column specifically aimed at the FBO community.

On the blog, called FBO Connection, Enticknap and Jackson will provide insight into winning strategies to help FBO owners, operators and managers run a more successful operation. The column can be found in the monthly release of the AC-U-KWIK Alert e-newsletter, and starting in February, it will appear on the home page of acukwik.com.

Enticknap and Jackson have been involved in the business aviation and FBO industry for more than three decades and are founders of Aviation Business Strategies Group, a consulting firm helping clients in the aviation services industry. Together they have teamed with the National Aviation Transportation Association (NATA) to teach the acclaimed FBO Success Seminar Series.

Before founding Aviation Business Strategies Group (ABSG) in 2006, Enticknap was president of Mercury Air Centers’ network of 21 FBO locations and has held executive management positions with DynAir Fueling and CSX Becket Aviation. He is an ATP- and CFI-rated pilot with more than 7800 flight hours, certified in both fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, and is the author of 10 Steps to Building a Profitable FBO.

Jackson is co-founder of ABSG and president of The Jackson Group, a public relations agency specializing in aviation and FBO marketing. He has held management positions with Cessna Aircraft and Bozell Advertising and is the author of “Mission Marketing: Creating Brand Value” and co-author of “Don’t Forget the Cheese!” the ultimate FBO Customer Service Experience.

“For AC-U-KWIK’s FBO Connection Blog, we’ll touch upon many of the FBO winning strategies we teach in our NATA Seminars and a whole lot more,” Enticknap explained. “Each week we’ll peel back the onion to reveal what we consider to be seasoned FBO insider knowledge, aimed at educating and motivating FBO managers, supervisors and employees. We’ll also include guest bloggers who will cover such topics as FBO law, finance, insurance and construction.”

With the introduction of FBO Connection, AC-U-KWIK is embarking on a new marketing and communications initiative designed to provide value-added services to the FBOs and other services companies that support the worldwide distribution of AC-U-KWIK’s comprehensive data, directories and flight planning tools.

“When AC-U-KWIK made the strategic decision to launch a robust and interactive form of communication for the FBO community, we knew exactly who we wanted to bring on board as bloggers,” Jodi Espinoza, AC-U-KWIK account services manager, said. “We’ve had the privilege of working closely with both Ron and John for over a decade before they started Aviation Business Strategies Group. We’ve been impressed with their breadth and depth of knowledge in the FBO operations and marketing fields. We’re excited to bring this knowledge to FBOs who list their services in AC-U-KWIK products.”

To sign up for AC-U-KWIK’s monthly ALERT e-newsletter, which will include the new FBO Connection blog, simply go to the home page of acukwik.com, and then click on any one of the business stories found there. An orange “Subscribe” button can be found on the right hand column, midway down the page.
