Skyservice Announces Successful Completion of their First Global 5000 Aircraft 120-Month and 180-Month Inspections

Skyservice™, Canada’s leader in business aviation, is pleased to announce that after adding the Bombardier* Global* aircraft to our Authorized Service Facility offerings, we have successfully completed our first 120-month and 180-month inspections. The 180-month items were added to avoid costly downtime and interior removal at the 180-month interval. The aircraft was completed on time and on projected budget.

People on the Go/May 24

The recipient of NATA’s Excellence in Pilot Training Award is Denis Arbeau, Manager of Training at Solairus Aviation. This award recognizes an individual or organization for outstanding contributions in safety, professionalism, leadership and excellence in the field of pilot training. Mr. Arbeau is a mentor and role model to hundreds of pilots that fly more than 22,000 annual hours. His experience, performance, leadership, and management skills reflect the highest industry standards in safety and excellence in pilot training.

James Smith is Chief Pilot for Seneca Flight Operations, the charter company headquartered in Penn Yan, New York.

Tina Ross has been named new Charter Sales Executive for charter company Acropolis Aviation.  Tina will be based at the company’s headquarters at Farnborough Airport, United Kingdom.

Rob Mellor is Senior Associate at The Air Law Firm, based in Mayfair, London.

James McCarthy is Director of Maintenance for Zenith Aviation, Ltd., the charter company with its fleet at London Biggin Hill Airport, UK.

Clay Lacy Scholarship Fund Helps Orange Coast College Students

Clay Lacy Aviation, the world’s most experienced operator of private jets, has established a scholarship fund to help students attending the Orange Coast College Aviation Science program earn their private, instrument and commercial pilot license. Flight training takes place at the Orange County John Wayne Airport where the college maintains a fleet of five aircraft.

NBAA Responds to Appeals Court's May 4 Order in SMO Petition Case

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) today responded to a May 4 order from the U.S. Court of Appeals, District of Columbia Circuit, delivered in connection with recent actions taken by the association to challenge an agreement between the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the City of Santa Monica, which would restrict or ultimately prohibit aviation access to Santa Monica Municipal Airport (SMO).

Jet Aviation Completes and Redelivers a Major Refurbishment on a Boeing B737

The same long-range Boeing Business Jet was also outfitted by Jet Aviation in 1999 – and happens to be the first BBJ Completions contract the company was ever awarded. The aircraft was recently sold with low air-miles to the current owner, who decided to refurbish it entirely.

FAI Completes €7m Carbon Neutral Hangar Development at Nuremberg Airport

FAI Asset Management GmbH, a member of the Nuremberg, Germany-headquartered FAI Aviation Group, has today completed a brand new 4800 m2 carbon neutral maintenance hangar, known as Hangar 8, at Albrecht Dürer Airport (NUE) in Nuremberg, Germany. The new hangar represents an investment of €7m and has created at least 10 new local engineering jobs, plus a number of other support positions.
